AuTH Quality policy
On the basis of the mission of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as described by Greek Law (N. 4009/2011, article 4) the vision and mission of AUTh can be summarized as follows:
- Upgrading the educational process and the curricula (Accreditation) – Educational and teaching excellence
- Enhancing excellence in research
- Enhancing AUTh’s international presence
- Upgrading the organization and operation of Administrative Services
- Using, applying and making the most of current Information and Communication Technologies
- Upgrading the quality of student services
- Connecting the University with society and promoting of AUTh to a landmark of development and culture
- Utilizing the University’s real property and intangible assets for the benefit of both AUTh and society at large
- Being an environmentally friendly University
- Being a friendly and accessible University towards all citizens and especially the ones with disabilities.

Quality Policy of the School of Italian Language and Literature
The Assembly of the School of Italian Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at its meeting, number 511/19-03-2020, identified the Quality Policy of the School as follows:
- Enhancing excellence in education.
- Enhancing excellence in research.
- Enhancing extroversion and internationalization.
- Continuous improvement and modernization of the educational equipment and infrastructure of the School.
- Upgrading the quality of administrative processes and provided services.
- Transparency in the allocation of resources and rational development of human resources.
The quality policy is ensured through:
- The development of collaborations and academic activities that support and improve the high excellence of the members of the School and the active participation of the students in its activities.
- The continuous self-evaluation, redefinition of goals, planning of actions.
- The commitment to comply with the legal and regulatory framework of AUTh.
This Quality policy supports:
- The high level and quality of studies based on international criteria.
- The emphasis on the theoretical and practical education of students but also the cultivation of research and creative thinking, in order to achieve the simultaneous education of the scientist and the teacher.
- The right combination of depth and breadth of knowledge and opportunities for their implementation.
- Specialization in cutting-edge fields and conducting international research in collaboration with Universities abroad.

Strategic planning of the School of Italian Language and Literature
The Assembly of the School of Italian Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at its meeting, number 511/19-03-2020, identified the Strategic planning of the School as follows:
A. High quality of the training provided in the Undergraduate Programme of Studies
• Modernization and internationalization of the Undergraduate Programme of Studies
• Enhancing the educational process.
• Strengthen the connection of the UPS with the labor market.
• Mentoring students for studies in the Department and professional career.
• Quantitative and qualitative adequacy of teaching staff.
B. Improving the performance of UPS students
• Increase in the success rate in the exams.
• Reduction of the duration of studies.
C. Development of high-level research and connection with the UPS
• Increase of published quality research & international recognition.
• Increase research funding.
• Connecting research with undergraduate education.
D. Enhancing the extroversion and the international presence of the Department
• Development of extroversion in education and research.
• Strengthening the international profile of the Department and the UPS.
• Encouraging student participation in international educational programs - Increasing incoming and outgoing students.
• Organizing conferences and events for the scientific community and society.
E. Improvement of the infrastructure, functions and services of the Department
• Modernization and improvement of the building infrastructure and digital services offered to students and staff.
