Stathis Birtachas: Nota bio-bibliografica

Docente di Storia d’Italia e delle Relazioni italo-greche presso l’Università “Aristotele” di Salonicco, nonché di Storia dell’Europa presso l’Università a distanza greca. I suoi interessi di ricerca riguardano la storia sociale, culturale e militare della Repubblica di Venezia e del suo stato coloniale nel Mediterraneo orientale; delle comunità greche nella penisola italiana durante il tardo Medioevo e l’età moderna; delle relazioni politiche, sociali, culturali e militari italo-greche edificate nell’epoca delle rivoluzioni e del processo di unificazione dei due Paesi. Ha pubblicato vari articoli in riviste e atti di convegni internazionali, capitoli di libri e volumi legati alla storia delle Relazioni italo-greche e agli studi di genere. Ha tradotto in greco la monografia di Letterio Augliera, Libri, politica, religione nel Levante del Seicento: la tipografia di Nicodemo Metaxas primo editore di testi greci nell’Oriente ortodosso, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Venezia 1996. Recentemente ha curato l’edizione delle relazioni finali dei rettori veneziani di Cipro, con i relativi sommari in greco e in inglese: Venetian Cyprus (1489–1571): The Reports by the Dominion’s Supreme Administrative Officials / Βενετική Κύπρος (1489–1571): Οι Εκθέσεις των αξιωματούχων του ανώτατου διοικητικού σχήματος της κτήσης, Casa editrice Epikentro, Salonicco 2020.
